Julie Dawn Smith, PhD is a nonprofit leader, researcher and community educator working in the interstices of creative music, critical scholarship, community engagement, and interdisciplinarity. Julie is Soundpool’s Director of Research, Education and Community Engagement. Her 25 years in the creative sector bring unique and wide-ranging experience and abilities that include comprehensive knowledge of and proficient skills in planning, managing, presenting, and cultivating performing arts events, festivals, and community arts and education initiatives in major urban centres. Julie holds several post-secondary degrees including a PhD in interdisciplinary studies from the University of British Columbia. Professional development includes a certificate from the Executive Program for Non-profit Leaders at the Stanford Graduate School of Business Centre for Social Innovation.

Kristin Fung is a highly skilled production, graphics and administrative assistant specializing in the arts and cultural sector. Over the past decade she has contributed to the success of major international events and organizations in both Vancouver and Toronto. This includes working for Coastal Jazz & Blues Society / TD Vancouver International Jazz Festival as Education and Outreach Coordinator, Production Assistant for the Vancouver 2010 Cultural Olympiad, Gate Scanning Supervisor at the Toronto International Film Festival, and as Office Assistant in the curatorial division of the Vancouver Art Gallery.

Ian RubenzahlIan Rubenzahl

Ian Rubenzahl has been providing digital media strategy and project management services to arts organizations, government agencies and corporations since 1996. He has managed needs-assessments, audience analyses and usability studies, and has implemented content management, digital marketing & e-commerce systems. Ian facilitates project teams to translate stakeholder needs into digital business strategies with defined success measurement strategies. Ian is a PMI-accredited Project Manager with certificates in Web Intelligence and Multimedia Production. He is a graduate of York University with a Master of Fine Arts.
